Are These Wordpress Plug-ins Missing From Your Online Marketing?

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Ok, so quickly – Wordpress is a blogging platform that is called a Content Management System. Wordpress is only for bloggers used to be something mistakenly believed by some internet marketers. More and more often, however, internet marketers are finding that this versatile system is exactly what they need to sell their products. It’s a platform with extreme versatility, and you can customize it to whatever degree. Through widgets and plug-ins you can fully customize your site to be whatever you want it to be. If you haven’t already, you’ll soon discover there’s an incredible amount you can do with Wordpress. To prove it, here are some of the most popular plug-ins among internet marketers who use Wordpress.

Social bookmarking is important and huge right now, so you can easily do that with ShareThis. It’s simple and just installs a small link box at the bottom of each page, or end of each post. When site visitors hover over it or click on it they are provided with a customizable list of different social networking and bookmarking sites that they can submit your site to. They can submit to Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Digg, or even IM such as AOL. So of course you know the purpose of bookmarking, it’s to spread the word about your site. SEO Friendly Images is incredibly helpful for internet marketers who plan on displaying a lot of images within their text. Hopefully, you’re aware of the need to do SEO on your text content, etc. Did you know you could do the same with the images you plan on using? You can quickly add your image ALT and Title tags to all your images. This handy little plugin will sense if your image tags are not in place, then it will alert you and you can tell it what to use. It’s a terrific time save if you’re into heavy image use.

You may want to consider using the Landing Sites plugin for your arsenal of traffic generated for your blogs. A lot of times when a new visitor arrives they’ll do a quick scan and hit a link or two. The Landing Sites plugin helps to spark interest in your site by showing links to related pages on your site. You want them to stay their forever, they won’t… be maybe much longer than they might have otherwise.

So whenever they read or visit a page they’ll see more of your site and hopefully will begin to like it. Naturally this is what every online marketer wants to have happen at their site. wordpress is simply one of the most incredible online marketing tools you could ever have. Years ago it really wasn’t used that much by the IM crowd, but now all of that has changed and it’s transforming the IM industry. So, really… any marketer can use Wordpress. There are marketers all over who are beginning to incorporate blogs into their businesses. This is something that people can use even if they’re never thought about using it previously. It’s easy because with all the plugins, you can make it into anything you want.

Business Blogging Two Choices for Your Blogging Platform

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

If you want to build an online business, you must have a blog. Blogging has become the way that people find out who you are and what you do, so it is non-negotiable. After you blog for a month or to, it will become a daily activity that you can actually look forward to for the help www.bloggers-guide-to-profit.com. My blog is my home on the internet, and I am always ready to share the information I have with my readers.
There are really only two choices for your blogging platform. I use both of them, mainly because I maintain so many blogs. Type pad is an easy way to set up your blog within an hour or so, and it is hosted by Type pad. There are about two hundred different themes to choose from, or you can easily upload your own. I always recommend Type pad as a blogging platform to people you need to set up a blog quickly, without any need for specialized features.
For those who want more flexibility with their blogs, Wordpress is the way to go. There are plug-ins that make it possible to turn your blog into a search engine optimization machine, allow you to easily upload audio and video, and do more things than you ever imagined, even with a traditional website. wordpress blogs require more technology knowledge to be set up and maintained, but you may find that you would rather learn some new things in order to have a site that is capable of so much more.
More and more people are now using blogs instead of websites, because the search engines love the fresh new content. You will be able to build your online business with your blog, and people will be able to find you easily when searching for your keywords on Google or any of the other search engines.
How blogs can hurt:
1. One small step. Negative posts can be fatal.
Blogging can open you up for many legal, liability and employment questions, problems or crises. Last year, Jim C. came to me after he had posted a rather nasty post on his Top Ten Worst Retailers in the World blog for the help www.feed-reader-links.com. His company did business with two of those retailers and as nosy or highly sensitive corporate personnel found out about his lambaste it caused a rift at the company. According to Jim, “This year for other reasons I was let go. It was not the economy. I crossed the line.”
2. Pictures tell a thousand stories.
Larry seemed to pipe up at work a lot about things that bothered him. So he decided to publish a seemingly anonymous blog. As a techy he posted hundreds of comments on political ideas, people he thought should be impeached and railed against what he considered bad taste and fashion. He did this anonymously under a lot of different names. But when he decided to take pictures at the year end Christmas party and publish captions that offended nearly everyone, he was, well, suspended without pay forever (fired).

How do I place web counters and PayPal widgets on my WordPress website?

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Hi, I need a step by step account on how to install a donate PayPal wigget and a site counter on my Wordpress website. I just signed up for one however it seems that the website is totally different from years ago when putting widgets and plug ins. Please help.

I assume you already have the code for the PayPal widget and counter? These are usually supplied by the company providing them in a form you can copy and then paste into your WP blog.

As a rule, it should simply be a matter of pasting the code into a sidebar widget in your wordpress "Appearances" section.

You need to add a "Text" widget (or more than one, if you prefer – one for PayPal, one for the counter). In each, simply edit the text widget and paste in the code you’ve been given.

There *may* be a problem with some themes in which case it can get a little complicated. However, in the vast majority of cases, the above should work.
