i have a photoshop layout and want to turn it into a wordpress theme to use for my own personal site. i’ve found the one on themetation.com, but it’s confusing. i am above average with HTML and CSS, but not with PHP. i need something relatively easy to follow. thanks.
You know, a few months ago I was also trying to do the same thing as you – so I reasearched and found 3 options:
1. Code it yourself (time consuming and requires moderate PHP skills)
2. Buy and expensive software like Artiseer (not worth it)

i’m not clear on these instructions…since they refer to a mySQL database. what language does WP run on?

I have a few plugins i want to install, but can figure out how to do it. Can i only install a plugin if the blog is hosted on my own domain, or can i install it if my blog is on the wordpress domain..? if so.. how?

If you’re hosted at wordress.com, you cannot installl plugins.
You can only install on your own hosted wordpress blog.

I am new to wordpress & php but familiar with dreamweaver, html and css. I want to keep the header, left and right columns but be able to edit the center piece. I was reading about static pages but they are still dta and not files I can edit using dreamweaver. THANKS
